Looking forward to DevLearn
This year at DevLearn is going to be a busy one!
First, I am doing a workshop with over 60 participants with Sharon Boller called “Play to Learn” we’ve had a wonderful time presenting this workshop before at various events and are excited to once again offer it at DevLearn. The idea behind the workshop is to teach people the basics of designing a learning game. This year we’ll have five graduate students from Bloomsburg University’s Department of Instructional Technology assisting with the workshop. It promises to be a great deal of fun and high educational for the attendees.
Next I am acting as an Academic Docent. I am helping Bloomsburg University and other students navigate the conference. You can learn more about the wonderful program set up by the eLearning Guild here. If you are a student of any kind and headed to DevLearn please take advantage of this program, it promises to be lots of fun and excitement.
I am also presenting on the topic of Matching the Right Content to the Right Instructional Strategy. I am working hard to fit it all into a comprehensive mystery to both education and model the behaviors I think make for great instruction. I have included my work to date in the spirit of “show your work below.” It is still a work in progress but I still have a few days before my presentation. So…plenty of time:)
My book signing will be Wednesday afternoon at 4:15 but if you have the book and you see me, I am “fair game to sign” so stop me at any time.
Finally, I have some great dinners and drinks lined up with new and old friends with alumni and others. Always looking to meet new people so if you are at DevLearn, please stop by my presentation or stop me on the Expo floor. Looking forward to great photo ops with alumni and others. See you in Vegas….
