I am kicking off another blog book tour and am excited to be able to “go” on another tour. We are starting it today as ASTD and I kick-off a 10+ stop blog book tour for the ASTD co-published book The Gamification of Learning and Instruction Fieldbook: Theory into Practice. The book is available at the ASTD Book Store.
I have done several tours in the past and wanted to keep this one a little smaller to be a more intimate and to grow organically. Let’s have fun with it and see what happens.
This tour is related to the fieldbook. The goal of this book is to provide a practical, hands-on approach to creating games, gamification and simulations for learning. The first book covers a good deal of the concepts, ideas and approaches. This new book covers case studies, provides worksheets and gives the information needed to take theory and turn it into practice.
I am please with the book and excited to have it ready in time for 2014 projects you might undertake.
You are encouraged to join the tour. Leave a comment on this posting linking to your blog and it will “officially” become part of the tour. We want to expand the tour with your input, ideas and concepts related to Gamification.
Here are the first 5 tour stop dates, check back here for more dates and locations and add your blog>.
Also, there will be a live stop at ASTD Techknowledge. My presentation is “10 Things We Know About How to Design Games for Learning From Research.”
The blog book tour is a virtual tour so you can just follow along stop by stop. If you don’t have the book yet, stop by the ASTD book store a pick up a copy HERE.
The Twitter hashtag for the tour is #gamiLI
