Keeping Youngsters Sharp with Video Games

Yesterday, I posted an article about the over 60 set and how video games help to keep them sharp. (Staying Sharp with Video Games).

After I did that Rajneesh left a comment inquiring if the same was true for youngsters. It is. Here are some results from a study that examined the question of problem solving from a 3rd grade perspective.

Results from a study of 180 third graders, 61 male students and 54 female, in a school district in Taiwan found that computer-based video game playing not only improved participants’ fact/recall processes but also promoted problem-solving skills by helping the third-graders recognize multiple solutions for problems.
