Virtual World Presentation

Last night I had the pleasure of speaking to a group at the University of Washington Virtual Biodome. It was part of a innovative curriculum taught by Randy Hinrichs who is CEO of 2b3d. And, last night wearing the hat of professor teaching at University of Washington in a Virtual World Certification program. I also met up with some great old virtual world and real world acquaints and made some new virtual friends!

As part of the final, students needed to create environments and host speakers in areas such as business, learning and entertainment. I got to speak on the business end of virtual worlds.

Here are some images:

Looking out over the crowd as we discuss the business of virtual worlds.

We discussed many topics including business models for virtual worlds and how to make money in virtual worlds. You can listen to the entire transcript and see links to resources at this address.

I was even fortunate enough to listen to some live music during the event.

Jamm’n in the virtual world.

My hats off to Randy, great class, engaged and brilliant students and exciting pioneering work in virtual worlds! Keep up the great work.

The students asked some great questions which I will be answering in right here in the near future.

And special thanks to Malik for pulling the entire interview together, great interview questions! Nice job.
